The following are just a few examples of the opportunities for service at North Canton Community UMC. All members and visitors are invited to join in any of these ministries, or help us to see other areas where we might serve our community, letting God's light shine in the darkness!

Vacation Bible School

NCCUMC offers this wonderful outreach ministry each summer to all area children, free of charge. This is our free gift to the community, funded through NCCUMC's United Methodist Women.

United Methodist Certified Lay Speakers

NCCUMC's certified lay speakers join with other area UMC lay speakers to provide preaching and worship leadership to churches without a full-time pastor, or in those times when a pastor is on vacation or out of town. Please contact the Church office if you wish to sign up.

Visitation Ministries

NCCUMC Lay Speakers serve as visiting ministers to the sick and shut in.

St. Elizabeth's House

NCCUMC members serve in rotation at this shelter and food kitchen for the homeless in Hartford.

United Methodist Women & United Methodist Men

NCCUMC service groups who are involved in mission work at both the local church and global levels, including financial and prayerful support of a medical doctor at a clinic in Haiti.

Focus on Canton

NCCUMC members join other community leaders and groups in service projects of the local community, including the seasonal town clean up Work Days, Crop Walk, and the annual community Thanksgiving Dinner.

Canton Food Bank

NCCUMC is a large contributor to the Canton Food Bank; our members donate approximately 150 bags of non-perishable food per year.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry began in 2006.  As of May 2013, our knitters have completed 224 shawls and distributed to St. Francis Hospital, McLean Hospice and Church family and friends who are in need of comfort.
